Lecturer and Laboratory Director
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications to fill one or more positions of Lecturer and Laboratory Director in Chemistry with a desired starting date of August 1, 2019. We seek creative and inspirational educators who will be able to assume key roles in the department's undergraduate chemistry program. While we are particularly interested in someone who can contribute in the teaching of introductory organic chemistry, organic and chemical biology labs for one of these positions, we will consider applicants with backgrounds and training in all areas of chemistry. A PhD in chemistry is required; relevant postdoctoral training and/or classroom teaching experience are considered positive attributes. The salary will be competitive and include full university benefits. The appointment will be made on a one year term initially and subject to satisfactory performance and by mutual consent may be renewed annually. The University of Tennessee has a Lecturer career ladder that allows appointment on a multi-year contract after five years of service.
