Job Details

The professor is expected to perform research and teaching in organic chemistry. Applicants should be recognized for excellent achievements in a modern area of organic chemistry. The position will be located within the Institute of Organic and Biomolecular Chemistry and suitably complement the departmental interdisciplinary focal research areas. Participation in existing and planned research initiatives of the Department of Chemistry in the areas of Functional Biomolecular Chemistry and Sustainable Organic Synthesis is essential. Participation in academic administration is expected.


The requirements of appointment are specified by §30 of the  „Niedersächsisches Hochschulgesetz“ (NHG) in its current version. In case of previous employment as a scientific employee or scientific teaching
assistant, before or after receiving the Ph.D. degree, the total time of employment and Ph.D. studies should not have exceeded 6 years. The appointment is for three years, with extension option for three more years. The Stiftungsuniversität Göttingen has the right to make this appointment.
