Big Sandy Community and Technical College in Eastern Kentucky is seeking qualified applicants for a full time, 10 month position, of Instructor of Chemistry on our Prestonsburg Campus.   

The normal teaching load is 15 credit hours per semester.

In addition to teaching both face-to-face and on-line classes, the faculty member is expected to develop, assess and revise curriculum, advise and mentor students in curriculum and career choices, actively recruit students, maintain office hours, serve on college committees and participating in college events and activities, provide external service to the community and participate in professional development activities.  To meet enrollment needs, faculty members may occasionally work on a different campus. Other duties may be assigned based on institutional need.

Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry; teaching and Blackboard experience preferred. Credential must be granted from a regionally accredited institution of higher education.

A passion for teaching undergraduate students and an ability to effectively work with a team is essential to success in this position.
