Senior Product Development Technician - 2nd Shift

The Sr. Product Development Technician is responsible for providing equipment and process related leadership and troubleshooting expertise for product development. Under the guidance of senior staff members, the Sr. Product Development Technician executes bench and pilot formulas to support stability, commercialization and clinical studies. The Sr. Product Development Technician reports to Manager of Product Development.

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Preparing bench top and pilot samples.
  • Managing pilot plant area and Independently operating laboratory and pilot equipment.
  • Maintaining pilot equipment and log books and performing preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is running at optimal efficiency.
  • Maintaining inventory of materials and parts and ordering them as needed to support pilot runs.
  • Initiating new equipment and process related Standard Operating Procedures and Job Instrustions.

The ideal candidate is recognized as a strong leader in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting equipment and takes initiative in improving current processes. You are highly process oriented with attention to details and are willing to work independently and within teams.

You'll be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Hands-on experience in product and process development, manufacturing equipment, processing and laboratory testing techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to assemble and disassemble equipment using a variety of hand tools.
  • Proven track record of investigating, troubleshooting and optimizing equipment and process related issues.
  • Good time management skills to complete assignments on time.

In order to take on these challenges, you'll need to have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years' experience in manufacturing, technical support and product development in pharmaceutical, nutritional, food or consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and intermittently lift 25--50 pounds.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
