POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Medical Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison has a rewarding opportunity for a tenure track faculty position to focus on nuclear- and radio-chemistry. We seek an individual who has a particular interest in radiochemical research thematically focused on radionuclide production and radiochemistry, PET ligand synthesis and characterization, and targeted radionuclide therapy. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with researchers in Medical Physics, in particular the Cyclotron Research Group, whose expertise in accelerator targetry and radiochemical separation offers a uniquely broad palette of radionuclides as a resource for scientific exploration with an equally broad range of potential applications.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is a world-class academic institution with an international reputation for basic, translational and cross-disciplinary research and is located in the heart of one of the country's most livable cities. The Department of Medical Physics is one of 10 basic science and 17 clinical departments in the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Medical Physics faculty research is broadly focused on using physical principles to improve our understanding of the biological basis of disease and health, improving our ability to non-invasively diagnosis disease as early as possible, and for developing, guiding, and non-invasively assessing therapeutic interventions. Together with our clinical colleagues, we advance state-of-the-art patient care by developing, validating, and translating to the clinical environment novel imaging systems, minimally invasive, personalized treatments, and early treatment assessment.

The School of Medicine and Public Health has a deep and profound commitment to diversity both as an end in itself but also as a valuable means for eliminating health disparities. As such, we strongly encourage applications from candidates who foster and promote the values of diversity and inclusion.
