UNC Asheville, the designated public liberal arts institution of the University of North Carolina system, invites applicants for a position as a Teaching and Research Fellow in Medicinal Chemistry. This position is designed for individuals who hold a Ph.D. in Chemistry or a related field and intend to pursue academic careers at primarily undergraduate institutions. Responsibilities of this position include mentoring undergraduate students on research projects, teaching undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in chemistry, and performing research and laboratory managerial tasks in support of the Principal Investigator, Dr. Amanda Wolfe. 

We seek applicants who are enthusiastic about undergraduate education with classroom and/or laboratory teaching experience, and are highly motivated researchers capable of leading a project and training undergraduates in designing and performing experiments, collecting and interpreting data, troubleshooting and solving problems in the laboratory, preparing publications, and presenting results at conferences. Candidates receiving strongest consideration will demonstrate enthusiasm for undergraduate education and the capability of working with a multidisciplinary team of faculty and undergraduates to further its research goals.

This position is expected to last 12 months with a one-year renewal option.  Review of applications begins August 15, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.  Position start date is flexible, but no later than January 1, 2020.
