This individual will work with-in the iStone new technology group and will focus on bringing new commercially viable technology forward for the business. Strong material science and/or synthesis background with project management aptitude.

RESPONSIBILITIES

o Explores, discovers and provides leadership with regard to polymer and material science
o Researches, develops, is involved in the commercialization of new technology. Experience with silicones, urethanes, epoxies and acrylics is desired. Coatings, plastics and foam experience is desired. EPDM, TPO and PVC experience is desired.
o Leads project teams with all supporting documentation
o Provides hands-on project involvement
o Provides industry advocacy in an outward facing role
o Uses experience and independent judgment and interpretation to apply scientific principles and personal technical expertise to accomplish product application, design and development objectives.
o Leverages team member input to leverage project efficiency and optimization.
o Conducts product performance testing.
o Compiles and analyzes data, then compiles into meaningful verbal and written reports.
o Provides benefit pertaining to low VOC, high solids, contractor friendly, lower carbon footprint and other environmentally friendly technologies.
o Conceptualizes, prioritizes, schedules, and executes project deliverables.
o Become familiar and conversant regarding all appropriate application equipment.

· Provides business support within the organization.
o Collaborates with Manufacturing, Customer Service, Sales, and Marketing Teams as needed.
o Maintains a safe and clean working environment in the lab.

· Must effectively and confidently present/communicate technical data to others.
· May review and prepare patent applications and manuscripts for publication or presentation at technical meetings.
· Assists in the preparation and review of marketing and sales literature.

QUALIFICATIONS

- A minimum of 10 years of industry experience - preferably in materials development
- Familiarity and preferably experience with Building Products technology
- A minimum of a MS in Chemistry, Polymer Science or related discipline. PhD preferred. 
- PMN / TSCA process familiarity
- Curious and creative mindset with historical examples
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- Strong focus on team success - with examples
- Organized with strong record keeping skills
