The primary mission of the OSU Department of Chemistry is to provide a program of undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral education in chemistry and to conduct research and scholarly activities focused on areas of chemistry important to human health, materials and the environment. The department offers PhD and MS degrees in Chemistry and has a rapidly growing student body, including 200 undergraduate majors. Some areas of research that would complement our department include the use of existing or new experimental methods, including spectroscopy and microscopy/imaging, from NMR to X-ray, to study biomolecules or materials (surfaces, interfaces, and/or condensed phases), or advancing new theoretical frames of analysis and modeling.
