TENURE TRACK FACULTY POSITION IN EXPERIMENTAL PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY.  The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Science and Health at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse(UWL) http://www.uwlax.edu/Chemistry-and-Biochemistry/anticipates hiring a dynamic teacher-scholar at the Assistant Professor level to join its top-rated program on August 31, 2020.  Our new colleague will teach General and Physical Chemistry lecture and laboratory courses along with advanced elective courses, develop and maintain an active research program involving undergraduates, and be engaged in department, university, professional, and public service.  Our department and college maintain a large array of modern instrumentation resources, and we have just moved into a brand new state-of-the-art laboratory sciences facilityQualifications: An earned Ph.D. degree in physical chemistry or related discipline by the start date.  A commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship at the undergraduate level, and proficiency in oral and written communication are required.  Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral research experience and those whose professional expertise complements that of the existing faculty.  Demonstrated post-secondary teaching experience including evidence of commitment to creating diverse and inclusive learning experiences is also preferred. To apply for this 100% academic year (9-month) appointment, please submit a cover letter, CV, teaching philosophy, statement of research plans, and unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts through the UWL employment portal at: https://employment.uwlax.edu/using the “Assistant Professor – Chemistry & Biochemistry” link to this opening.  The cover letter should explicitly emphasize both an interest in this position at UWL and a commitment to teaching effectiveness and student engagement and mentoring.  Applicants also must include contact information for threeprofessional references, at least one of whom is able to address the applicant’s teaching abilities/potential.  First review of applications will begin FridayOctober 11, 2019and continue until the position is filled.  UW-La Crosse is an AA/EO employer encouraging excellence through diversity.  Employment will require a criminal background check.
