Job Details

The Chemistry Department at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Organic Chemistry, broadly-defined, beginning in the fall of 2020. 

The successful candidate will teach chemistry courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate level; conduct research in collaboration with both undergraduate and graduate students; serve on departmental and university level committees.

The Chemistry Department offers programs leading to BS, BA, MS and PhD degrees.  The Chemistry Department moved into a new facility in 2016.  The Beaupre Center (URI Chemistry Building) is a 135,000 square foot facility for teaching and research.  This excellent environment for research collaborations houses extensive new instrumentation in a shared user facility; researchers in the Chemistry Department have no-cost access to high field NMR, GC-MS, FTIR, HPLC, fluorimetry and LC-MS in addition to materials characterization instrumentation.  For more information about the Department of Chemistry, please visit our website
