The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the University of New Haven invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Organic Chemistry beginning January 2020. The Department consists of fourteen full-time faculty (ten chemists and four chemical engineers). The Department has experienced unprecedented growth during the past several years, along with the University in general. The University of New Haven offers several science-intensive programs that require advanced undergraduate and graduate chemistry courses. 

Qualifications: Ph.D. in organic chemistry or an aligned area which will complement the existing strengths of the department. A commitment to teaching excellence, active-learning and student engagement; strong communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to collegiality and teamwork. Postdoctoral and prior teaching experience will be considered favorably. Authorization to work in the U.S. 

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to teach organic chemistry at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and advanced courses in the area of expertise, as well as to develop a research program that engages students. Preference will be given to candidates whose research interests align with the college-wide research initiatives in energy, sustainability, biomedicine, and education research.
