The Senior Research Scientist is an integral part of the AMRI team, contributing to our success by independently leading related scientific projects, conducting and coordinating work within the West LaFayette location and across functional groups of AMRI, leading a team of scientists, and assuming a customer facing role.

In this role, you will:
- Direct client and internal research projects including chromatographic analysis and in-vitro comparative analysis of pharmaceutical compounds and products (dissolution and related techniques), as well as pre-clinical formulation development, characterization, and general testing.
- Direct and interpret data to solve complex scientific problems
- Utilize chromatography (i.e. LC, IC, and GC), UV-Vis, dissolution, and other associated analytical techniques.
- Develop, validate, and write analytical methods and operating procedures according to specific sample or testing requirements.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and qualification of equipment (i.e. HPLC, Dissolution, etc.).
- Provide project oversight, client interactions, and scientific input.
- Provide supervision to laboratory staff, including direct reports and project staff.
Job Requirements
Required
- Master’s or PhD with corresponding years of experience in chromatography, dissolution, pre-formulation, and analytical development.
- Minimum of 10 years (BS), 6 years (MS), or 3 years (PhD) of related laboratory work experience (HPLC, UPLC, UV-VIS, IC, Dissolution) in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Critical thinking, problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience with design and troubleshooting experiments and interpretation of data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, as is a high level of independence and the ability to handle multiple projects.
