Project Engineering Consultant III – Chemical (Multiple Positions)

Project Engineering Consultant III – Chemical (Multiple Positions) (Stantec Energy & Resources, Inc.; Bakersfield, CA) Develop Process Flow Diagrams, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Material Selection Diagrams for Oil, Water and Gas projects. Develop control philosophies and cause and effects charts for oil and gas projects. Perform process simulations for Oil, Water, and Gas Facilities. Perform equipment sizing and data sheet, including pumps, compressors, oil/gas separators, and heat exchangers. Perform hydraulic calculation and pre-loading for hazard and operability analysis evaluation (HAZOP). Develop operation and maintenance procedures.

Requirements:

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, plus 5 years of post-bachelor’s, progressive related work experience.

Of the required experience: 4 years of experience must be in developing PHA reports based on Safety Software PHA-Pro 8; and 5 years of experience must be in each of the following: Oil and Gas production facilities process engineering; determining physical and thermodynamic properties of fluids based on process simulators; using commercial process simulation software PRO/II, HYSYS, and ProMax; developing Process Flow and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams for Oil, Gas, and Water facilities; developing control philosophies for Oil, Gas, and Water facilities; developing piping hydraulic analysis using PIPEPHASE, AFT Fathom, and Synergi pipeline simulator software; and, developing MS-Excel spreadsheets for equipment sizing calculations for process equipment based on API (American Petroleum Institute) and ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) codes and standards.

Travel up to 10% is required.
