The Chemistry Department at Dickinson College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, commencing Fall 2020.  We seek a candidate whose training is in organic chemistry, and whose research will apply chemical approaches to relevant biological questions. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the College's interdisciplinary Biochemistry & Molecular Biology program and First Year Seminar courses, and to develop a vigorous and productive independent research program that involves undergraduate students. The five-course teaching load will include introductory organic lecture and laboratory courses, advanced seminar in areas appropriate to the candidate’s expertise, and general chemistry or upper-level biochemistry lecture and laboratory as needed. Dickinson is a highly selective four-year, independent liberal arts college with 2300 students.  It is located 20 minutes west of Harrisburg PA and is a two-hour drive from Baltimore, Washington DC and Philadelphia. Interested candidates should submit via QUEST (online application system) at https://jobs.dickinson.edu; please include a letter of application, a curriculum vitae, a graduate transcript, three letters of recommendation, a statement of research plans, and a teaching philosophy. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate. Review of applications will begin September 15, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.  The College is committed to building a representative and diverse faculty, administrative staff, and student body. We encourage applications from all qualified persons.
