Quality Manager Location – Indian Head, MD
Clearance – Interim SECRET
Description:
Venesco is looking for a Quality Manager that will provide quality functions to support the development of a Quality Management System. The Quality Manager functions include developing necessary documentation, for ISO Standard 17025 compliance, and making recommendations for improvements to laboratory operations. Included is the overall integration of all requirements in a manner that optimizes total performance, quality, cost-effectiveness, and supportability.
Requirements:
- In support of these requirements, the Quality Manager will be required to perform the following quality functions: Develop a Quality Management Guide for ISO Standard 17025 compliance for a chemical and magnetometer laboratory Advise on and develop documentation for laboratory quality process and forms
- Develop ISO standards, develop quality guides, develop laboratory guides, generate quality management processes and procedures
- Revises departmental procedures (SOPs) as necessary to ensure compliance to regulatory standards and guideline generation, including Level II guide generation
- Maintains a working knowledge of US Navy quality assurance codes and standards
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor of Science degree (science or engineering preferred)
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing and improving quality systems
- Experience in SOP generation and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Knowledge of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Chemistry, and Good Laboratory Procedures (GLP)
- Preferred (but not required) experience in Chromatography, High Pressure Liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), Ion Chromatograph (IC), Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer (GC/MS), Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrometer, Raman Spectrometer, Thermal Analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC), Thermo Gravimetric Analysis (TGA)
- Detail oriented with well-developed organizational skills
- Able to effectively verbally communicate to multiple level of technical personnel
- Must have the ability to relate to and work well with individuals
- Able to handle multiple tasks and make quick sound decisions
- Working knowledge of business software packages, such as Word, Excel, and Access, and modern office equipment skills
