Assistant Professor – Organic Chemistry - 12640

The C. Eugene Bennett Department of Chemistry at West Virginia University invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Organic Chemistry. The position will, pending budgetary approval, begin in August 2020. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or medicinal chemistry. The successful candidate is expected to develop a vigorous and externally funded research program in an area of organic chemistry that is complementary to existing research efforts in the department. Research activities at the interface of the biological sciences or catalysis and the ability to establish cross-disciplinary collaborations will be considered as an important asset. The successful applicant will also be expected to excel in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
