The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Providence College, Providence, Rhode Island, invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the assistant professor level to begin August 1, 2020. One position is in the area of biological chemistry or chemical biology and the other position is in the area of physical, analytical, or materials chemistry with preference to applicants who can interface with biochemistry. Applicants are expected to be committed to teaching undergraduates and establishing an active, externally funded research program that engages students. Teaching duties will include introductory chemistry courses and, as appropriate, upper level courses in biochemistry, or courses in physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, or materials chemistry.  A willingness to teach courses for nonscience majors is also valued. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate a commitment to engaged learning and inclusive excellence in undergraduate teaching, and a willingness to participate in the wider life of the department and the College.
