The Department of Chemistry at Marquette University seeks to fill one tenure-track/tenured position in experimental Organic Chemistry, broadly defined, including (but not limited to) materials chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, synthetic organic, bioorganic, or medicinal chemistry. Marquette University is home to interdisciplinary research in areas such as water quality, neuroscience, data science, health and human performance, and participates in several regional research alliances including the Clinical and Translational Science Institute of Southeast Wisconsin.  Applicants whose research would contribute to the mission of any of these collaborative initiatives are encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate at the Full Professor rank should currently hold the rank of Associate or Full Professor and is expected to maintain an internationally recognized research program in organic chemistry, broadly defined, and have a track record of external funding and the vision and leadership to fill a position at the rank of tenured Full Professor.

The successful candidate at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank is likewise expected to develop a highly visible, extramurally funded research program in experimental organic chemistry, broadly defined.

The successful candidate at any rank will mentor graduate and undergraduate students and teach courses in areas of their specialty and interest at both the graduate and undergraduate level.  High-quality research and demonstration of high-quality teaching is required.  The successful candidate will engage in service to the department via service on important committees and other departmental, university, and professional service as appropriate.
