The Bourns College of Engineering (BCOE) at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) invites UC President's and Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellows to apply for an open-rank tenure-track faculty position beginning the 2020/21 academic year. Fellows appointed since 1996 that do not currently hold a tenure-track position within the UC system are eligible to apply.

BCOE is ranked in the top 50 public engineering colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College has 129 faculty members, more than 2,500 undergraduate students, 900 graduate students, and more than $30 million in annual research expenditures. BCOE is implementing a major expansion of faculty and investing in state-of-the-art research facilities to support their work. This expansion will build critical mass in vital and emerging fields of scholarship, foster truly crossdisciplinary work, and further diversify the faculty.

UCR is a world-class research university with an exceptionally diverse undergraduate student body. Its mission is explicitly linked to providing routes to educational success for underrepresented and first-generation college students. A commitment to this mission is a preferred qualification.

We encourage applications from eligible scholars committed to excellence in research and teaching and to helping define the University for future generations. We seek to complement existing areas of research expertise within BCOE, without duplication, so that UCR is increasingly competitive for large research collaborative grant opportunities.

Applicants must have a PhD in Engineering or a closely related field and must be a current or former President's/Chancellor Postdoctoral Fellow. To Apply: Please submit a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, a Statement of Research, a Statement of Teaching, and a Contribution to Diversity Statement to the AP Recruit website at https://aprecruit.ucr.edu/JPF01168. Applicants for the Assistant Professor level are required to provide three letters of reference and applicants for the Associate Professor or Full Professor level should provide contact information for three professional references. Full consideration will be given to applications received by December 31, 2019. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Appointments are expected to begin July 1, 2020. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Advancement through the faculty ranks at UCR is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
