Description:

  • Perform laboratory and manufacturing research and development for Flow Improver products.
  • Propose, design and test new Flow Improver products.
  • Provide technical expertise to Flow Improver Technology Team (FIT).
  • Provide scientific and technical input to R&D groups, marketing and sales teams.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and assist in training technicians to operate lab and pilot plant equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain and direct a research and development laboratory/pilot plant facility.
  • Plan, supervise, analyze and document lab/pilot tests in development of new Flow Improver products.
  • Provide technical support to Flow Improver business (internal/external).
  • Develop analytical methods and techniques for analysis and quality control of Flow Improver products.

  • Understanding of industry regulations and standards that might impact new products (API, EPA, TSCA, PMN, ASTM).
  • Lead of project team containing all business functions to successful outcomes.
  • Expert presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.

Education & Experience:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in chemistry, polymer science, polymer engineering, or related discipline. 
  • Advanced degree (Ph.D.) in organic chemistry (preferred)
  • Knowledge of safety rules and regulations including SDS, Hazcom, laboratory chemical hygiene and Process Hazards Management (PHM).
  • Design, implement, and maintain ISO systems for R&D.
  • Knowledge of Intellectual Property system associated with Flow Improver products.
  • Experience in synthetic organic chemistry with history of finding innovative solutions to challenging problems as demonstrated through academic (peer-reviewed) or industrial publication. Ability to transfer laboratory research into high-volume, commercial products.
