ROLE of the POSITION

The UNLV School of Integrated Health Sciences is accepting applications for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, Department of Health Physics and Diagnostic Sciences in the fields of radiation detection/detectors, environmental health physics and/or nuclear waste management. Other research areas of interest include accelerator physics, radiation biology, space radiation, radiation risk assessment, radiation and cancer epidemiology, emergency response/homeland security, non-proliferation and radiological consequence management. The department has access to a number of on-campus research facilities including state-of-the art detection labs. This is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track or tenured position. Primary responsibilities include establishing an active research program supported with extramural funding, supervision of graduate students and teaching in the Department’s Health Physics programs. Teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels will be required, as well as service and research duties in accordance with University criteria. QUALIFICATIONS

A doctorate in health physics, engineering, physics or a related field is required from a regionally accredited college or university. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
