Over the last decades, the Institute has established its core strengths in biomedical research at the interfaces between chemical and biological sciences.  Nature Index has ranked Scripps Research second in the world and first in the United States among stand-alone scientific institutes for biomedical research, based on discoveries by the Institute’s researchers published in leading scientific journals.

The Institute is organized into two campuses, one in La Jolla, California, and one in Jupiter, Florida. Scripps has a vibrant Ph.D. program that is ranked in the top 10 in chemical and biological sciences and boasts a collegial and collaborative environment, where faculty, students and postdoctoral fellows can freely interact across campuses and disciplines to form synergy in emerging areas of research.

Candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and an outstanding record of research that demonstrates originality in addressing significant questions. Successful candidates will be expected to establish an active research group, be an interactive member of the faculty, and participate in interdisciplinary research and training.

A bicoastal Search Committee with representatives across disciplines will review the applications.  Applicants will be selected for interviews on a specific campus as early as October 2019 and positions will remain open until filled, or May 2020. Anticipated start date will be Fall 2020.
