Tenure Track Assistant Professor

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (ChBE) at Tufts University invites applicants for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level as part of a focused effort to further strengthen key research areas. Exceptional candidates will be considered at other ranks. The anticipated start date is January 2021. Current strengths of the department lie in advanced materials for energy and sustainability, cellular and biomolecular engineering, systems engineering and process modeling. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain an active, highly visible research program and to demonstrate excellence in teaching, including core chemical engineering subjects, and in mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students.

We seek applicants whose research complements our current strengths in catalysis, advanced materials for energy and sustainability and molecular engineering. We especially encourage applicants whose expertise is in catalysis, including design of catalytic materials at the molecular and atomic scale, surface and molecular engineering, and related experimental or computational approaches. We seek individuals who embrace opportunities to work collaboratively within the department as well as across the School of Engineering (SOE) and the University.
