The Chemistry Department at Farmingdale State College is seeking a highly energetic and motivated individual to serve as a full-time lecturer in general chemistry for a renewable 3 year contract. The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in either analytical or physical chemistry. Teaching experience beyond graduate teaching assistantships, specifically general chemistry, is preferred. Postdoctoral training is preferred, but not required. The teaching load will consist of 15 contact hours plus 5 office hours per semester. The workload of the chosen candidate will consist of a service component, including student advisement as well as active participation on departmental, school and college-wide committees. The candidate is also expected to develop a course curriculum in either analytical or physical chemistry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ph.D in Analytical Chemistry or Physical Chemistry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience teaching General Chemistry.
  • Upper divisional chemistry courses.
  • Postdoctoral experience.

This is a full-time, 10 month faculty position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Thursday, October 24, 2019 and ending Wednesday, November 6, 2019, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
