Job Details

The chemistry program at York College seeks applicants with teaching experience and a desire to apply their knowledge and skills in mentoring undergraduates, conducting research, and teaching both analytical and introductory chemistry. The new hire will be part of a team of 10 full-time faculty with diverse research interests that involve collaboration with students and local industry partners. The person in this position will oversee the delivery of a chemistry course used to satisfy a general education requirement at the college. Other duties involve developing new laboratory and research experiences for students in the area of analytical chemistry.

A Ph.D. in chemistry is required. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience in teaching undergraduates, a broad knowledge of chemistry, and a record of publication in the discipline. Those who plan to conduct research and publish in the area of bioanalytical chemistry will have priority. Candidates should also possess an ability to communicate effectively, organize laboratory work, and exhibit excellent management and interpersonal skills.
