The Department of Chemistry at Johns Hopkins University is searching for an NMR spectroscopist to oversee the operation of the Universities NMR Core Instrumentation Facility.  The candidate should have at least a PhD degree in Chemistry or related field along with 3 – 5 years of experience in high-resolution NMR spectroscopy. Broad experience with liquid and solid-state NMR spectroscopy, electronics, and computer programming is desired. In addition to the NMR instruments, the facility also houses an EPR, a FTIR, a Polarimeter, and a Lyophilizer. The candidate will also oversee the instruments that are used in the undergraduate teaching labs (NMR, FTIR, UV-vis and Fluorimeter). Primary duties include maintenance/repair, training, support teaching labs, supervision of users of the department’s instruments, and maintenance of the facility website. The candidate will be involved in development of operational plans, performance measures and the submission of instrumentation acquisition grants.
