The Chemistry Department at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry. This is a full-time position with a two-year appointment beginning July 1, 2020.

The ideal candidate will be an effective educator who can teach general chemistry and introductory inorganic chemistry. The position carries a teaching load of four (4) one-semester lecture and four (4) one-semester lab courses per year. Other duties include advising students and participating in department and university service.

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements: Ph.D. in chemistry (in hand by July 1, 2020 and preferably in inorganic chemistry) and an aptitude for exceptional teaching at the undergraduate level. Applicants must also demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to teaching in a single-sex, liberal arts institution.
