The Department of Chemistry at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in biochemistry to begin August 1, 2021. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Program and at all levels in the Chemistry Department and to be part of developing and teaching a diverse and inclusive curriculum, including contributing to college-wide initiatives such as the 360 Program and the Emily Balch Seminars. The candidate will be expected to establish an ongoing program of scholarly research which involves undergraduate and graduate students. A Ph.D. is required by the start date and post-doctoral research experience is desirable.

Founded in 1885, Bryn Mawr College is a private liberal arts college for women located in Lower Merion Township, 11 miles west of Philadelphia. It was the first women's college in the United States to grant the Ph.D. to women. Today, the College is made up of an undergraduate college of 1,287 women and two co-educational graduate schools, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, with 458 students. Students come from 49 states and 43 countries around the world. Seventy-five percent of students receive financial aid and 30 percent are students of color. Bryn Mawr has a student-to-faculty ratio of 8:1. Thirty-six majors and 38 minors are offered, as well as eight interdepartmental concentrations.
