Job Details

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for a tenure-track, junior chair in drug discovery with an emphasis on cancer. We anticipate hiring at the rank of Assistant Professor, although exceptionally qualified candidates at higher ranks will be considered and are encouraged to apply. We seek candidates with research interests in all areas of cancer drug discovery, but especially medicinal chemistry, structural biology, and immunology/immunotherapy. The University of Notre Dame has invested significantly in both drug discovery and cancer research with the establishment of the Warren Center for Drug Discovery (https://drugdiscovery.nd.edu/) and the Harper Cancer Research Institute (https://harpercancer.nd.edu/). The successful applicant would be able to take advantage of the significant resources and collaborative opportunities provided by the intersection of both centers. Candidates are asked to provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a detailed research plan, and a statement of teaching philosophy and interests.  Junior candidates should also arrange for the submission of at least three letters of recommendation; senior candidates are welcome to apply in confidence.  All materials should be submitted to the application website (https://apply.interfolio.com/78624).  Applications will be considered on a rolling basis upon receipt but should be received by November 15, 2020 to receive full consideration.

The University of Notre Dame seeks to attract, develop, and retain the highest quality faculty, staff, and administration. The University is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to building a culturally diverse workplace. We strongly encourage applications from female and minority candidates, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and others that will enhance the diversity of our community, including candidates attracted to a university with a Catholic identity.
