The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Texas Tech University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level. One position will be in the area of organic chemistry, broadly defined. Areas of research interest could include bioorganic/medicinal, synthesis/catalysis, and polymer chemistry.  The second position will be in the area of experimental physical chemistry, again broadly defined. Areas of research interest for this position could include physical biosciences, sustainable energy, materials, soft matter, surface chemistry and catalysis. This position could also benefit from the existing theoretical/computational expertise within the department. For both positions, a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field is required, with postdoctoral experience preferred. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent, well-funded research program and have a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates who have very strong records of scholarship supported by extramural funding and who have the proven capacity or clear potential to bring externally sponsored research to Texas Tech University are encouraged to apply. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, and university is expected.
