Faculty Position in Computational Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University invites applications for a 
nine-month, tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2021 at the rank of Assistant Professor in 
Computational Chemistry.
A successful candidate is expected to establish an extramurally funded, internationally 
recognized research program in computational chemistry. All areas and subspecialties  of  
computational  chemistry  will  be  considered,  but  candidates who  are  able  and  willing  to  
establish  successful  computational/experimental collaborations within biochemistry (enzymatic 
catalysis, drug discovery) and/or organic chemistry (enantioselective synthesis, catalysis, and 
natural products) are desired.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline at the 
time appointment begins, and a minimum one year of postdoctoral experience. The successful 
candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Candidates must be 
eligible to work in the United States at the time employment begins and continue working legally 
for the proposed term of employment. Desired qualifications include a strong record of publication, 
teaching and mentoring experience, and demonstrated (or potential) ability to acquire extramural 
funding.
