Job Details

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University invites applications for a 
nine-month, tenure-track faculty position beginning Fall 2021 at the rank of Assistant Professor in 
Experimental Physical Chemistry.
A successful candidate is expected to establish an extramurally funded, internationally 
recognized research program in experimental physical chemistry. All areas and subspecialties of 
experimental physical chemistry will be considered.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related discipline at the 
time appointment begins, and at minimum one year of postdoctoral experience. The successful 
candidate must possess excellent written and inter- personal communication skills.  In addition, 
candidates should be eligible to work in the United States at the time appointment begins and 
continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Desired qualifications include a 
strong record of publication, teaching and mentoring experience, and demonstrated (or potential) 
ability to acquire extramural funding.
