The Department of Chemistry at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology invites applications for faculty positions across all areas of chemistry at all ranks.  Priority will be given to applicants in the following areas: computational chemistry, chemical biology, materials science and environmental chemistry.

Appointees are expected to teach chemistry courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to develop a vigorous research program in their areas of interest.  Applicants should have a PhD degree in chemistry or a related discipline, and ideally with a minimum of two years’ post-doctoral research experience.

Starting salaries will be highly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable in accordance with university policies.  Initial appointment will normally be made on a 3-year contract.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
