The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Florida International University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, faculty position in Physical Chemistry to begin in August 2021. The successful candidate will develop a vigorous, extramurally funded research program with substantial graduate and undergraduate student involvement, and will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Physical Chemistry, plus additional courses in his or her area of specialization. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or an allied field and research experience pertinent to Physical Chemistry are required; postdoctoral experience is expected. Qualified candidates at all career stages are encouraged to apply. Hiring will be considered at the rank appropriate. For applicants to a senior rank position (associate professor or professor), preference will be given to those having current or forthcoming extramural research funding transferable to FIU.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is dedicated to ensuring a diverse, inclusive, and scholarly environment.
