The position is academic year, full-time, tenure-track, permanent.

The Chemistry Department at the University of Rhode Island (URI) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Organic Chemistry, broadly defined, beginning in the 2021 academic year. 

The successful candidate will teach chemistry courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level; advise students at both the undergraduate and graduate level; conduct research in collaboration with both undergraduate and graduate students; serve on departmental and university level committees.

The Chemistry Department offers programs leading to BS, BA,MS, and PhD degrees.  The Chemistry Department moved into a new facility in 2016.  The Beaupre Center (URI Chemistry Building) is a 135,000 square foot facility for teaching and research.  This excellent environment for research collaborations houses extensive new instrumentation in a shared user facility; researchers in the Chemistry Department have no-cost access to high field NMR, GC-MS, FTIR, HPLC, fluorimetry and LC-MS in addition to materials characterization instrumentation.  For more information about the Department of Chemistry, please visit our website.
