Director of Proteomics (Scientist), Chemistry and Biochemistry
The University Of Delaware
Newark, DE
The University of Delaware (UD) seeks a Director of Proteomics who will oversee proteomics and protein chemistry approaches to support basic research across campus. The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with a broad user base and publish findings in areas including cancer, microbiology, and neurobiology. The expansion of Life Sciences and the development of the Biopharmaceutical Institute have increased the need for proteomic expertise across campus. The vibrant collaborative research community is further strengthened by NIH-funded center grants, including one focused on building chemical biology and proteomics (https://sites.udel.edu/cobrediscovery/), and an NSF MRSEC grant focused on biomaterials (https://mrsec.udel.edu/about-ud-charm/). UD’s core in proteomics and mass spectrometry currently serves over 300 researchers across 60 research groups (https://sites.udel.edu/mslab/), and is positioned to grow through the leadership of the director. The Director will work closely with UD scientists in a collaborative environment on all aspects, including: project design, teaching practical interpretation of proteomic datasets, contributing to publications and leading instrumentation proposals. The director will work independently to write articles, reports and manuscripts, and present research findings at meetings and/or conferences. UD is centrally located on the I-95 corridor between NYC/Philadelphia and Baltimore/Washington DC. Application can be made here: https://careers.udel.edu/cw/en-us/job/494847/scientist-chemistry-biochemistry.
Review of applications will begin on Jan 4, 2021.
