Job Details

The Department of Chemistry invites applications for an Assistant Professor in the sub-discipline of Organic Chemistry, broadly defined.  There are opportunities to develop collaborations within the department and across the university in the fields of organometallic, physical organic, organic materials chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, photochemistry, and the engineering subdisciplines.  Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or related field with demonstrated scholarship and research achievements; post-doctoral experience is preferred.  Applicants must be committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population and to working effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines. A strong commitment to teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels is a requirement.  Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, statements of proposed research and teaching interests, and arrange for at least three letters of recommendation to be sent. Personal statements summarizing teaching experience and interests, leadership efforts, and contributions to diversity & inclusion are encouraged.
