Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Kennesaw State University invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor from candidates with expertise in the area of Bioanalytical Chemistry, which begins August 2021.
Candidates who can develop a collaborative and innovative research program to develop the Department’s expertise in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS, LC-MS/MS, LC-triple quad, LC/Q-TOF, etc.) are particularly encouraged to apply. Teaching expectations include biochemistry or analytical chemistry or bioanalytical chemistry and/or advanced courses in the candidate’s expertise at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Advising and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students is expected. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate, through peer-reviewed publications, strong potential to establish a productive program of research with undergraduate and/or graduate students (M.S.) as contributing coinvestigators. It is expected that each applicant’s research program will complement and extend the diverse research interests of the faculty within our department and college (http://csm.kennesaw.edu/research/index.php). Participation in professional service activities within the Department, the University and beyond is also an expectation. Expectations include a commitment to diversity and inclusion in all areas of faculty endeavor.
Qualified applicants will have an earned doctorate in chemistry or biochemistry or a closely related discipline or its foreign equivalent by the position start date.
Preferred Qualifications include: 1) post-doctoral experience with a demonstrated track record of peer-reviewed publications; 2) a well-articulated research agenda capable of generating external funding and appropriate for including graduate (M.S.) and undergraduate research students; 3) teaching experience at the university level up to and including an understanding of different effective instructional pedagogies.
