Augustana University seeks to fill a visiting, full-time position in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August, 2021. 

Primary Responsibilities: (1) Instruction of general chemistry, either organic chemistry or inorganic chemistry, and physical chemistry courses (lecture and laboratory) for majors and non-majors, and (2) instruction of nonmajor chemistry courses (lecture).  This position includes a heavy laboratory component, with a target total load of 14-16 student contact hours per fall/spring semester.  The successful applicants will have a demonstrated dedication to undergraduate education, a commitment to innovative and excellent teaching, the capability to adhere to the timelines of a rigorous curriculum, and the ability to meet the flexible instructional needs of the Department. Summer teaching opportunities outside of the base teaching load may be available. Research/scholarship is not an expectation for the position. 

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry (preferred emphasis in either physical organic chemistry or physical inorganic chemistry). Candidates with post-doctoral training and a strong record of undergraduate instruction in general, organic/inorganic, and physical chemistry are preferred.
