Your role:
The Senior Scientist – Chemical Biology Innovation contributes to our R&D mission in "Developing chemistry technologies to enable commercialization of high value products and services for chemical synthesis, materials science, and industrial customers.”
As a Sr. Scientist for Chemical Biology Innovation, you will be an integral component of shaping future chemical biology technologies and platforms at MilliporeSigma by working across our global R&D organization and with our partners in Business Development and Product Management.
You will identify and develop solutions with high market potential and act as a hub for interdisciplinary expertise and operational execution within our Life Science organization.
Technology and customer insights: Scout and vet innovation and business development opportunities in the chemical biology and drug discovery space with customers and by building/maintaining internal and external key-opinion-leader (KOL) networks Strategic and tactical planning: Co-lead short- and long-term chemical biology innovation strategy with marketing and business development teams. Identify gaps in current solutions and capabilities Product/service ideation: Translate novel technologies into products and services by leading their research, conceptualization, and design Solution development, validation, and implementation: Utilize global R&D sites to make, validate, and productize multidisciplinary solutions to specifications important to our chemical biology customers.
Who you are:
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of Ph.D. in Chemistry field
5+ years chemical biology experience in pharma drug discovery setting / industry experience
In-depth knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry as well as application of small molecules in biology
Preferred Qualifications
Curious, future-oriented mindset with experience implementing new ideas and technologies within a company or department
Ability to work in a matrixed organization, influencing with and without direct authority
Excellent communication skills in presentations, customer engagement, and technical writing
Diverse background in biological applications (e.g. screening, proteomics, assay development, cell imaging)
Experience with targeted protein degradation, DNA-encoded libraries, and chemical probe development Knowledgeable in drug discovery workflow and automation

The position can be based in Burlington - MA, St. Louis - MO or Milwaukee - WI
