Job Details
The Department of Chemistry at the University of Louisville (UofL) seeks to hire a tenure/tenure track faculty member at open rank who will teach in and coordinate the General Chemistry curriculum and conduct high impact Chemistry Education Research (CER).
UofL is a state-supported research university located in Kentucky's largest metropolitan area. The Department of Chemistry is on the 287-acre Belknap Campus three miles from downtown Louisville. UofL offers a School of Medicine and the J.B. Speed School of Engineering in addition to traditional natural sciences for potential collaborations and synergistic activities. UofL hosts teaching and learning resources to support the development of new and innovative teaching practices, including the Delphi Center and the 165,000 sq. ft. Belknap Academic Classroom Building (BAB) fitted with the latest active learning environment technology. There are exciting research centers on campus, including the Center for Regulatory and Environmental Analytical Metabolomics (CREAM), the Conn Center for Renewable Energy Research, the Micro/Nano Technology Center, and the Electrooptics Research Institute and Nanotechnology Center (ERINC). Discipline-based research in post-secondary chemistry education that is well-aligned with the current research strengths of the Department and/or that include potential interactions with these centers are a positive. A Ph.D. in Chemistry is required. Postdoctoral research and teaching experience are preferred.
