The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM), Office of New Animal Drug Evaluation (ONADE), Division of Manufacturing Technologies is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Microbiologist or Chemist.  The Division protects public and animal health through science and risk-based decision making in the scientific review of New Animal Drug Applications for the manufacturing and controls of animal drug products. This position will be filled through FDA’s Staff Fellowship program. The appointment is up to 2 years with opportunity for renewal.

As a member of this Division, you will have a significant impact on the development and approval of these FDA-regulated articles that may benefit and improve the practice of both veterinary and human medicine.Specifically, you will provide microbiology expertise and knowledge to the assessment of the quality of new or marketed animal regulated products to assure their safety and effectiveness.Collaborates with and advises others on microbiological issues related to animal drugs, foods, devices, laws, regulations, and policies as well as scientific research and industry developments in microbiology and related fields. You will evaluate data and information from a variety of sources to determine the acceptability of the chemistry, manufacturing, and controls information for new animal drugs. Additionally, you will provide advice and guidance to FDA staff and stakeholders such as government agencies, industry, academia, and the public in one or more scientific areas related to microbiology (e.g., bacteriology, parasitology, virology).

Hoteling, along with a strong telework program and strong electronic communication and workflow tools, affords employees in ONADE the flexibility to balance work/life demands while contributing to our high performing organization.
