Eastern Kentucky University’s College of Science offers a broad range of degree programs in physical, life and mathematical sciences, mathematics, and computer science, and prepares students to become teachers of science and mathematics at the secondary level through its six departments: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Geosciences, Mathematics and Statistics, and Physics and Astronomy. Position Summary:

The Chemistry Department at Eastern Kentucky University seeks applicant for a tenure track position in analytical chemistry at the Assistant Professor level with appointment to begin August 15, 2021. Teaching responsibilities for the candidate will include introductory and upper division disciplinary courses to fulfill ACS degree requirements and core and special topic graduate courses in their discipline. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry or a closely related field and be committed to excellence in teaching, service, and scholarly activity. Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral and teaching experience. Research expectations include the establishment of an independent research program commensurate with a masters-level institution. Candidates with research plans that can complement existing strengths of the department are preferred. Start-up funds are available. Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. degree in chemistry or a closely related field from a NECHE, MSCHE, HLC, NWCCU, SACSCOC, WSCUC, or ACCJC accredited or internationally recognized institution and be committed to excellence in teaching, service, and scholarly activity.

Desired Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with post-doctoral and teaching experience.
