Job Details
The College of Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of Chair of the School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering. The Chair is responsible for leading the intellectual, creative, and scholarly development of the School. The successful candidate will have the vision and strategic skills to lead the School toward higher levels of excellence within an inclusive, collaborative, and multi-disciplinary environment. Chair candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to faculty/staff development, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and facilitating innovation. They should also have a drive for advancing fundraising initiatives. Strong candidates will have the ability to maximize successes within existing faculty research initiatives in areas of energy and sustainability, biotechnology, materials & nanotechnology, and complex systems and demonstrate the ability to develop new research areas. The Chair will also have an opportunity to enhance the School’s relationships with other Schools within the College of Engineering and across campus. Candidates for this position must have a doctorate and an international reputation in their field of expertise.

Established in 1901, The School of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) is one of eight Schools in the College of Engineering at Georgia Tech. The School is comprised of 40 core faculty, 1,000+ undergraduate students, 200+ graduate students, and 33 staff members. Ranked among the top ten ChBE programs in the nation for both its graduate and undergraduate programs, its students have many opportunities for hands-on, interdisciplinary technological research, working on impactful projects alongside faculty who are recognized experts in their fields. Requirements
Candidates must have a doctorate in Chemical Engineering or a related field and be eligible for tenure at Georgia Tech at the rank of Full Professor.
