The department of Chemistry and Physics invites applications for a Visiting Asst Professor of Biochemistry for the 2021/2022 academic year. Successful candidates will have expertise in the area of biological chemistry or chemical biology with preference to applicant who can also teach in the general chemistry sequence. The primary instructional assignments will be in biochemistry and/or general chemistry or an advanced course in the candidate's area of expertise, may be assigned as needed. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate advise students and fulfill other faculty service responsibilities. Successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, mentoring and student engagement, as well as service to the college and community. Winter and/or summer teaching if available, would be for additional compensation. Appointment would commence August 2021.
PH.D in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or closely related discipline or a master's degree with extensive experience. Applicants with ABD status towards completion of their Ph.D. in Chemistry or Biochemistry are also welcome to apply. Prior teaching experience is preferred. Particularly strong candidates will have demonstrated past experience in teaching at the collegiate level in chemistry, both in lecture and in the laboratory.
