Position Description:

The Zhang Laboratory (https://cop-zhang.sites.medinfo.ufl.edu/) at College of Pharmacy, University of Florida is seeking a self-motivated postdoctoral scholar to develop mRNA delivery platform for cellular engineering. The responsibilities include conducting experiments related to chemical synthesis and formulation (lipid nanoparticles) development; supporting pharmacological/tox studies utilizing in vitro and in vivo model systems.

The Immunoengineering lab led by Dr. Zhang integrates materials science, immunology, and clinically relevant animal disease models to create novel nanotherapeutics for controlled modulation of the immune system for disease treatment.

The postdoc will have opportunities to lead the scientific projects, participate in lab management and grant writing. Qualifications:

Scientific qualification:

A recent Ph.D. degree with a strong background and lab experience in organic chemical synthesis, lipid/polymer nanoparticles formulation, nucleic acids, drug delivery, in vitro / in vivo assays.

Other qualifications:

Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to communicate efficiently in a multidisciplinary team. The candidate must be able to thrive both in independent research and while working collaboratively with other fellows and graduate students in the lab.
