Job Details
Hofstra University (www.hofstra.edu) invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Organic Chemistry beginning September 1, 2021. Hofstra is a selective private university with 12,000 students (7,000 undergraduates) located 25 miles from New York City, providing excellent opportunities for collaboration with nearby universities and national lab facilities. The position includes teaching Organic Chemistry lecture and lab. The Chemistry department offers undergraduate degrees in Chemistry, Biochemistry and Forensic Science. Teaching load is typically between 2 and 3 courses per semester: typical class size 10-50. Competitive salary, excellent benefits.
A PhD in Organic Chemistry or related field is required by time of employment. Successful candidates must also demonstrate how they will contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the Department through a brief statement describing their plans to incorporate DEI into their teaching, mentorship, and service.
