The MIT Department of Chemistry seeks an instructor to teach undergraduate organic chemistry for Fall 2021. Responsibilities include lecturing half of a first semester and half of a second-semester organic chemistry subject, participating in generating course material (e.g., problem sets and examinations), and collaborating with faculty on the administration of both subjects for the fall semester. Some teaching of organic laboratory classes may also be required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in chemistry.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to undergraduate education.

The ideal start date is no later than August 16, 2021. The appointment extends through December 31, 2021.
