Job Details

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Texas Tech University invites applications for a non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Practice position at McLennan Community College in Waco. Primary Job duties will be: Teaching Organic Chemistry I and II and the corresponding laboratories each semester. There will also be opportunities to teach Analytical Chemistry. Teaching during summer sessions are encouraged, but not mandatory. All classes are offered on the McLennan Community College Campus located in Waco, TX. Class size ranges from 10 to 20 students and are offered as part of the Biology Major. A Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field is desired, but not required. Experience working with diverse student populations and first-generation students is highly desirable. Service duties include program-building, as well as commitment to extra-curricular activities. Service to the department, college, and university is expected. Located in Lubbock, Texas, Texas Tech University is a state-supported National Research University Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) with a Carnegie R1: Highest Research Activity classification. It has an enrollment of more than 40,000 students, and is one of the major multidisciplinary universities in the Southwest. This position is in the Waco metropolitan area which is home to more than 150,000 people and features sunny weather and affordable housing.
