Senior Scientific Researcher, Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology

Description
Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) is seeking a talented Scientific Researcher/Senior Scientific Researcher to join the Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology Department supporting small molecule drug discovery. The individual will focus on covalent drug discovery using primarily mass spectrometry (MS) for screening, hit validation, and mechanistic characterization. The individual is expected to apply various assays and the corresponding data analysis workflows to support lead finding and optimization efforts in the context of multidisciplinary project teams, as well as to build and implement new techniques to advance our current workflows through technology innovation.
Who You Are
• The qualified individual will have a BS or MS in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience using mass spectrometry methods for drug discovery projects in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology or academia.

• Relevant MS expertise in intact protein analysis, peptide mapping, etc.

• Demonstrated experience in sample preparation, mass spectrometer operation, rigorous data analysis workflows and informatics software.

• Experience with automation would be advantageous.

• Experience in programming is a plus.

• Excellent oral/written communication and organizational skills are required.

• Outstanding interpersonal skills to develop effective working relationships with internal stakeholders and project teams are required.
